Tottington is a semi-rural ward in the Borough of Bury, in Greater Manchester and historically part of Lancashire. It lies on the northern fringe of the urban area and backs onto the West Pennine Moors, with local high ground such as Holcombe Hill and the distinctive Peel Tower providing popular walking routes and wide views across the surrounding countryside.
The area mixes a village high street of independent shops, pubs and community facilities with suburban housing, giving it a friendly, commuter-oriented feel while retaining local identity. Its roots in north-west textile and industrial history are visible in older buildings and community traditions, and the ward remains active with sports clubs, local events and good bus and road links into Bury and Manchester.
