Farcet is a small village and civil parish in the historic district of Huntingdonshire, within the county of Cambridgeshire in England. It sits close to the city of Peterborough on the edge of the low-lying Fens, with the nearby River Nene and surrounding floodplain shaping the local landscape and agricultural character.
Historically the village grew from farming and fenland drainage and later benefitted from improved rail and road links, which encouraged modest industrial activity and housing expansion in the 19th and 20th centuries. Today Farcet retains a strong village feel with basic local amenities, a village community that stages regular events, and many residents commuting to nearby towns for work while valuing the rural setting and fenland wildlife on their doorstep.
