Rushden is a market town in North Northamptonshire, England, sitting on the western edge of the River Nene valley and within easy commuting distance of Northampton and Peterborough. Historically it grew up on the 19th‑century boot and shoe industry, and that industrial legacy is still visible in older terraces and former mill buildings, while recent regeneration around Rushden Lakes has created a notable retail, leisure and nature-park complex.
The town retains a lively community feel with the Rushden Transport Museum celebrating its transport heritage, local markets and festivals, and plenty of green spaces along the river - a mix of small‑town social life and evolving economic reinvention.
