Caddington is a village and civil parish in Central Bedfordshire, England, lying just south of Luton and close to Dunstable on the northern edge of the Chiltern Hills. It has medieval origins - the name likely means “Cada’s farm” - and retains a compact village centre with older stone and brick buildings and a parish church, set amid surrounding farmland that gives it a distinctly rural feel despite its proximity to larger towns.
Historically agricultural, the area later hosted small-scale brick and gravel workings and provided labour for nearby industries such as Luton's hat trade; today Caddington is largely a commuter community with good road links to the M1 and easy access to Luton and London, while maintaining an active local life through a village hall, pubs, a primary school and sports clubs.
