Landewednack sits at the tip of the Lizard Peninsula in Cornwall, England, and is the most southerly parish on mainland Britain. The landscape is dramatic - windswept cliffs, unique serpentine rock and heathland meet a rugged coastline around Lizard Point and its well‑known lighthouse, giving a strong sense of place and plenty of clifftop walks, seabird colonies and a long history of shipwrecks and coastal navigation.
The community is small and dispersed around the village of Lizard, where fishing, seasonal tourism, holiday lets and small‑scale farming underpin the local economy. There’s a quiet, close‑knit feel to village life, with galleries, craft shops and a maritime heritage that flavour festivals and local storytelling, while visitors come for scenery, wildlife and the distinctive geology of the area.
