St Gennys is a small, rural parish on the exposed north coast of Cornwall, a few miles west of Bude. The landscape is a mix of rolling farmland, hedgerows and dramatic cliffs and coves, with the tiny coastal settlement of Crackington Haven and stretches of the South West Coast Path drawing walkers and rock‑poolers to the shore.
Historically the community grew from farming and small‑scale fishing and the parish church has medieval roots, giving the area a quiet sense of continuity. Today the local economy leans on agriculture and coastal tourism, and the parish retains a close‑knit, village feel with seasonal visitors and a strong connection to the landscape and seafaring heritage.
