Threemilestone is a village just west of the cathedral city of Truro in mid-Cornwall, sited along the main road into town. Its name comes from an old milestone marking three miles to Truro, and over the twentieth century it grew from a few houses into a substantial suburban community with easy access to the city and surrounding countryside.
Today it functions partly as a commuter suburb of Truro, with local shops, schools and light industry alongside community clubs and sports teams, while benefitting from proximity to Cornwall’s coastline and its historic mining landscape; despite modern development it still retains a recognisable village feel.
