Towednack is a tiny rural parish on the Penwith peninsula in Cornwall, a few miles west of St Ives and east of Zennor. It occupies rolling granite moorland close to the coast, with lanes and fields that open onto dramatic sea views and stretches of the South West Coast Path, giving the area a rugged, windswept character.
The community is centred on a small medieval church and a scattering of hamlets and farmsteads; historically the economy was agricultural (and linked to nearby fishing ports), while today tourism, holiday lets and walkers visiting the coast and moorland are important. Despite that visitor interest, the parish retains a close‑knit, distinctly Cornish feel with local traditions and a strong sense of place.
