Zennor is a small, scattered parish on the rugged north coast of Cornwall, sitting on the wild headland about six miles west of St Ives. Its landscape mixes granite moorland and steep cliffs - notably Zennor Head and the sheltered Pendour Cove - and the South West Coast Path runs through the area, popular with walkers and birdwatchers; parts of the coastline are designated for their wildlife and coastal flora.
The village is known for its old stone church, St Senara's Church, with the carved mermaid that inspired the local Mermaid of Zennor legend, and nearby prehistoric remains such as Zennor Quoit. Historically influenced by farming, tin and granite working, the local economy today relies on small-scale agriculture, tourism and a modest arts community, with amenities like the traditional Tinners Arms pub serving a tight-knit local population and visitors alike.
