Tywardreath is a small village in south Cornwall, England, tucked near the western bank of the estuary of the River Fowey. It forms part of the civil parish of Tywardreath and Par and sits a short distance from the china‑clay harbour at Par and the historic port of Fowey, making it a convenient base for coastal walks on the South West Coast Path.
Historically the settlement grew around a medieval religious foundation, and the remains of Tywardreath Priory and the village St Andrew's Church give the place a strong sense of history. The local economy was long tied to shipping and the nearby china‑clay trade, while today it is largely a quiet residential and visitor community with a village green, a pub or two and easy access to sailing and walking on the estuary.
