Kenley is a suburban ward in the southern part of the London Borough of Croydon, historically in Surrey and now part of Greater London. It reads as a largely residential, commuter-friendly area with good rail links into central London, plenty of semi-detached housing and small local parades serving day-to-day needs.
The ward is notable for its open, green character - most famously Kenley Common and the neighbouring former airfield, RAF Kenley, one of the best-preserved Second World War fighter stations and a local focus for heritage events. That mix of wartime history, chalk grassland and suburban calm gives the area a distinct identity within Croydon, with an active community feel and a largely family-oriented population.
