Pinxton is a small former mining village in the district of Bolsover, in the county of Derbyshire, England. It lies close to the border with Nottinghamshire and is within easy reach of larger towns such as Mansfield, which leaves it with a quiet village feel while still serving as a commuter base for nearby centres.
Historically Pinxton grew up around coal and other mineral industries and is also remembered for the short‑lived but collectible Pinxton porcelain factory of the early 19th century. Since the decline of deep mining the area has moved towards light industry, local services and residential development; community life revolves around local clubs, the village hall and countryside amenities, with public footpaths and former transport routes popular with walkers and cyclists.
