Birchover is a small village and civil parish in the Derbyshire Dales district of Derbyshire, England, sitting on the western edge of the Peak District. The landscape is notable for gritstone outcrops, caves and moorland, with the nearby Stanton Moor area containing prehistoric stone circles and other ancient features that give the locality a strong sense of place and attract walkers and rock climbers.
Historically the area is shaped by small‑scale farming, quarrying and a legacy of lead‑mining, and the village still shows many traditional stone cottages and a parish church at its heart. Today the local economy mixes agriculture with tourism and small businesses, and community life revolves around village institutions and occasional local events rather than any big industry.
