Pilsley is a small civil parish in North East Derbyshire, Derbyshire, England, situated between Chesterfield and Clay Cross. It occupies a mix of agricultural land and small wooded areas on the fringe of the urban corridor, with the nearby River Rother and rural lanes offering easy local walks while keeping residents within commuting distance of Sheffield and other nearby towns.
Historically the community developed around coal mining and the railway, and although the pits have long closed the village still shows that industrial heritage in terraces and former transport alignments.
