East Ogwell is a small village in the Teignbridge district of Devon, England, tucked into the rolling farmland a few miles south‑west of Newton Abbot. The settlement has a compact core of stone cottages and lanes opening onto fields and a village green, giving it a distinctly rural Devon feel while still being within easy reach of larger towns.
Historically a separate parish, the village retains a strong rural identity: agriculture remains visible in the landscape even as many residents commute to Newton Abbot or Exeter. The mediaeval parish church of St Bartholomew’s Church and several older houses provide local historic interest, and community life centres on small events and village organisations typical of South Devon communities.
