Weare Giffard is a small historic village in the district of Torridge, Devon, England, tucked close to the east bank of the River Torridge between Bideford and Great Torrington. The compact cluster of stone cottages, a parish church and the site of a former manorial estate reflect medieval origins - the Giffard family once held the manor - and the riverside setting gives the village a tranquil, slightly secluded character popular with walkers and birdwatchers.
Locally the economy remains rooted in farming with a bit of small-scale tourism and people commuting to nearby towns; community life is typical of a small Devon village with events around the hall and church, and easy access to the lanes, orchards and estuary landscapes of North Devon for outdoor pursuits.
