Landcross is a very small, rural parish in Torridge, Devon, England, perched on the eastern bank of the River Torridge where the estuary opens out towards the north coast. The setting is quietly scenic, with tidal creeks, hedgerow-lined lanes and public footpaths that give good birdwatching and estuary views, while the landscape remains dominated by mixed pasture and small-scale farming.
Historically the area retains a medieval feel around its tiny parish church of St Swithun and a scattering of traditional farmsteads; economically it is largely agricultural, with many households now commuting to nearby towns such as Bideford and Barnstaple via the A39. The social life is sparse but local, typical of a North Devon hamlet, valued for peace, landscape and close links to the river.
