Winkleigh is a village and civil parish set on high ground in the district of Torridge, in north Devon, England. It acts as a small rural centre for surrounding farms, combining traditional agriculture with some light industry and local services; the A30 trunk road is within easy reach, giving reasonably quick links to larger towns and centres.
The community is centred on a historic parish church, a village hall, a primary school, pubs and small shops, and an active programme of fetes, clubs and markets that keep village life lively. The locality is also notable for the site of a former Second World War airfield close by, now largely repurposed for light industrial use and occasional events, and for the hedgerow-rich lanes and countryside that make it popular with walkers and riders.
