Braithwell is a small, largely rural village and civil parish in the Metropolitan Borough of Doncaster, in South Yorkshire. Set amidst rolling farmland, it keeps a compact historic core of traditional stone cottages and a village green that gives it a distinctly rural character despite being within reach of larger towns and commuter routes.
The village has a long history reflected in its older buildings and a prominent village cross, and the local economy has long been rooted in agriculture even as many residents now commute for work. Socially there is a strong community feel, with local events, a village hall and church forming focal points for activity and preserving a sense of place within the wider Doncaster area.
