Bishop's Caundle is a small village and civil parish in Dorset, England, sitting on the edge of the Blackmore Vale between Sherborne and Sturminster Newton. It is one of the cluster of Caundles along the Caundle Brook, with the familiar rural mix of stone and thatch cottages, lanes and pasture that characterise northern Dorset.
The village has medieval roots and a long association with the bishops of Salisbury, which explains its name, and life today is largely shaped by agriculture, small local trades and a lively community spirit centred on the pub and village hall; walkers and birdwatchers favour the quiet lanes and hedgerows. Like many Dorset villages it is prized for its peace and scenery while also facing the common challenges of limited services and rural housing pressures.
