Moreton is a small village and civil parish in Dorset, sitting on the Isle of Purbeck just inland from the Jurassic Coast. The setting is characteristically Purbeck, with farmland, heath and limestone ridges of the Purbeck Hills, and it lies within easy reach of historic attractions such as Corfe Castle and the seaside town of Swanage.
Locally there are traditional stone cottages and a rural economy based on farming, small enterprises and visitor services; the area also has a long history connected to Purbeck stone working. The parish is popular with walkers and nature-lovers using nearby coastal paths and National Trust land, and community life centres on the village hall, church and pub which host seasonal events and local groups.
