Ringwood is a small market town on the western edge of the New Forest in Hampshire, England. It sits where the River Avon flows through low-lying heath and ancient woodland, close to the Dorset border and within easy reach of Bournemouth and Southampton. The surrounding forest landscape with its ponies and open heath makes it a popular base for visitors as well as a pleasant commuter and shopping centre.
Historically a medieval market town that grew up around a river crossing, Ringwood still has a lively market square, timber-framed buildings and the parish All Saints Church. Local life mixes independent shops, farmers' markets and outdoor pursuits; the town is also home to the well-known Ringwood Brewery, so it balances a rural character with modest local industry, tourism and community events.
