Studland is a small coastal village on the eastern tip of the Isle of Purbeck in Dorset, England, looking out over Poole Harbour and the English Channel. Its long sandy beaches, dunes and heath sweep around Studland Bay, while the chalk stacks of Old Harry Rocks mark the start of the Jurassic Coast; a short ferry crosses to Sandbanks and there are views across to Brownsea Island.
Much of the area is managed by the National Trust as heathland and a nature reserve, important for rare reptiles and heathland birds, and tourism - bathing, sailing, wildlife watching, holiday cottages and campsites - is central to the local economy. The village still feels traditional, with thatched cottages and a close-knit community, and the shoreline shows traces of Second World War defences that reflect its strategic past.
