Weston in Dorset is a small, typically English village set in rolling farmland a few miles from the south coast, close to Weymouth and the World Heritage Jurassic Coast. The settlement retains a compact historic core of flint and stone cottages and a parish church, with hedged fields, lanes and the nearby limestone landscape around Portland giving the area a strong sense of place.
Originally agricultural, Weston now has a mixed economy of farming, tourism and commuters to nearby towns; its proximity to coastal walking routes and beaches makes it appealing to day visitors, yet it still feels like a small community with village halls, local groups and seasonal fĂȘtes that reflect its long local history and rural character.
