Seaford is a coastal town and civil parish in the district of Lewes, in East Sussex, England, sitting between Newhaven and Eastbourne on a long shingle beach backed by promenades and chalk cliffs. The town is framed by Seaford Head and adjoins the South Downs National Park, with popular walks to Cuckmere Haven and the distinctive chalk scenery of the Seven Sisters.
Historically it was a medieval port whose foreshore has shifted over centuries, and you can still find Martello towers and wartime defences along the coast. Today Seaford combines tourism, local independent shops, small-scale fishing and a commuter/retirement population, with a lively community scene focused on sailing, nature conservation and seasonal events.
