Robertsbridge is a large village and civil parish in the district of Rother, East Sussex, England, sitting on the floodplain of the River Rother at the edge of the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Its position between the Weald and the coast gives a mix of rolling countryside and historic lanes, and the village has a compact, timber-framed medieval core with a lively high street of independent shops and cafés.
Historically the village grew around a medieval crossing and the site of a Cistercian house founded in the 12th century, and remnants of that long past help give the place its character. Today the local economy combines agriculture, small-scale manufacturing and services, and good rail links from Robertsbridge railway station make it popular with commuters to Hastings and London, while walkers and cyclists value the nearby countryside and public footpaths.
