Magham Down is a small, quiet hamlet in the Wealden district of East Sussex, England, lying close to the towns of Hailsham and Herstmonceux. Set in the wooded, rolling landscape of the Weald, it has a rural feel with farmland, patches of ancient woodland and easy access to country walks and the wider countryside, while the coast and the South Downs are within easy reach.
Historically rooted in agriculture with some 18th–19th century cottages and farmhouses surviving, Magham Down today combines farming with a commuter presence to nearby centres; local social life tends to revolve around neighbouring villages and parish facilities, and there is modest local interest in conservation and vernacular architecture typical of rural East Sussex.
