Bowes is a ward in the London Borough of Enfield, in north London, sitting close to the North Circular Road and neighbouring areas such as Arnos Grove, Bounds Green and Palmers Green. The neighbourhood is largely suburban, with a mix of Victorian and inter‑war terraces, post‑war council housing and small parks, and is served by nearby rail and tube links including Bowes Park station and Arnos Grove station on the Piccadilly Line.
Having expanded rapidly during late 19th and early 20th century suburban growth, Bowes now has a diverse population, local high streets with independent shops and community facilities, and a largely commuter economy with many residents travelling into central London. Pressure from housing demand and periodic regeneration initiatives sits alongside a family‑oriented, community feel provided by schools, centres and pockets of green space.
