Ingrave and Herongate are adjoining villages in the borough of Brentwood, in rural Essex, England. Set amid farmland and green-belt countryside just a few miles from Brentwood town, they retain a village character of historic cottages, narrow lanes and a mix of older and more recent housing.
The settlements have long local roots and a handful of historic buildings and community focal points such as village halls and traditional pubs; the local economy is largely residential with some agriculture and small businesses. Many residents commute into London or nearby towns thanks to good road and rail links, so the area combines a quiet rural feel with easy access to urban amenities.
