West Horndon is a small village and civil parish in the borough of Brentwood, Essex, England, sitting on the edge of the suburban belt where the open countryside meets major transport routes. It has its own railway station on the London–Southend-on-Sea line and close road links to the M25 and A127, which makes it a popular commuter base while still retaining a village feel.
Historically an agricultural settlement, West Horndon now combines small local shops, pubs and community organisations with nearby industrial and retail areas that shape the local economy. The village is noted for its mix of older buildings and newer housing, handy access to regional centres such as Basildon and Thurrock, and straightforward links into London, giving a balance of rural character and everyday convenience.
