Epping Upland is a small, rural parish in the Epping Forest district of Essex, England, sitting on higher ground a few miles north of the market town of Epping. The landscape is a mix of arable fields, pasture and wooded belts, giving a distinctly countryside character despite its relative closeness to London and the commuter belt.
The village retains a historic feel, centred on an old parish church and a scattering of traditional cottages and farmsteads, and much of the area is covered by conservation and listed building protections. Economically it remains largely agricultural with a significant proportion of residents commuting for work, and socially it functions as a close-knit rural community with local clubs, a village hall and occasional fetes and village events that reflect its long-established local identity.
