Deerhurst is a small village and civil parish in the district of Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire, England, sitting on the east bank of the River Severn a few miles north of the market town of Tewkesbury and close to Apperley. The setting is low-lying Severn floodplain and farmland, popular with walkers and birdwatchers and shaped by the river’s seasonal rhythms.
The village is best known for its remarkably intact Anglo‑Saxon church, with fabric surviving from the early medieval period, and features in records such as the Domesday Book; a handful of other historic houses and listed buildings give the place a strong sense of history. Today the community remains largely rural and agricultural, with some commuters to nearby towns and a modest amount of heritage tourism centred on the church and riverside landscape.
