Dursley

Dursley is a compact market town in the district of Stroud, Gloucestershire, England, sitting on the southern edge of the Cotswolds beneath the Cotswold escarpment. It feels very much like a traditional country town, with a high street of independent shops and a tight-knit community, while the surrounding rolling countryside and nearby footpaths make it a handy base for walking and exploring the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Historically it grew from cloth and small-scale industry and later became well known for engineering, notably the Lister works, so you still get a mix of industrial heritage and rural character. The town has regular community events and practical rail connections via Cam and Dursley railway station into Gloucester and Bristol, which helps keep it both connected and quietly characterful.
