Bramshaw is a small village and civil parish set within the heart of the New Forest National Park in Hampshire, lying close to the county border with Wiltshire. The parish is notable for its large commons and pockets of ancient woodland, heath and bog, with a landscape of heather, gorse and small ponds that attracts walkers, riders and wildlife-watchers; the area still supports specialist heathland species and feels distinctly rural and protected by the national park.
Historically the settlement has long associations with the New Forest and the old forest customs, and the village retains traditional cottages and a country pub atmosphere. Local life revolves around commoning, small-scale farming, forestry and tourism, while many residents commute to larger towns nearby; socially it’s a close-knit community with village events and a strong sense of place rooted in landscape and history.
