Kings Somborne is a compact village and civil parish in the Test Valley district of Hampshire in southern England, set on the chalk stream of the River Test and within easy reach of Stockbridge and the rolling countryside of the North Wessex Downs. The landscape is typical of the valley: meadows, water meadows and classic chalk-stream habitat that give the area its strong reputation for trout fishing and pleasant riverside walks.
Life here remains largely rural and community-focused, with mixed farming and small local businesses alongside a scattering of period cottages, a medieval parish church and several historic houses whose names recall past royal connections - the “Kings” element of the name reflects former Crown ownership. The parish has an active village hall and local events, and its proximity to estates and country pursuits means walking, fly-fishing and equestrian activities form a big part of social and recreational life.
