Crawley is a small rural village in the district of Winchester, Hampshire, England. Set in the rolling chalk countryside of the South Downs, it sits within easy reach of the cathedral city of Winchester and the riverside meadows of the River Itchen, giving a typically Hampshire mix of farmland, lanes and attractive walking country.
Although modest in size, Crawley has a strong village identity with traditional buildings, a parish church and local events; the local economy remains largely rural with many residents commuting to nearby towns. It is often confused with the much larger town of Crawley in West Sussex, but is valued locally for its quiet character and countryside access.
