Droxford is a small village in the heart of the Meon Valley, roughly ten miles east of Winchester in Hampshire, England. Nestled alongside the River Meon and fringed by chalk downland, it sits close to the South Downs and attracts walkers and cyclists using the Meon Valley Trail, which follows the route of the old Meon Valley Railway.
Despite its modest size the village has notable history: the surviving station building recalls wartime activity and the line’s former role, and the area has roots stretching back to early rural settlement. Today Droxford is a quiet, largely residential and agricultural community with a strong local character, village events and a small local economy that leans on farming, local services and visitors enjoying the countryside.
