Olivers Battery is a small residential parish perched on the chalk slopes just to the south‑west of Winchester in Hampshire, England. Sitting beside St Catherine's Hill and close to the South Downs, it offers wide views over the city and the River Itchen valley and feels distinctly semi‑rural despite being only a short drive from the centre of Winchester.
The name comes from an earthwork reputedly used as an artillery battery in the English Civil War, a visible reminder of local history amidst largely 20th‑century suburban housing. The area is mainly residential with a village hall, primary school and community groups, and many residents commute into Winchester for work, while enjoying easy access to walking routes and National Park countryside.
