Edgware is a suburban ward on the northern edge of the London Borough of Harrow, sitting close to the boundary with Barnet. It has a mixed residential character - a blend of post‑war estates, semi‑detached homes and older pockets of housing - centred around a busy high street of independent shops, cafés and supermarkets and serving largely as a commuter area with regular bus links into central London.
Historically the area grew up on ancient routes and expanded rapidly in the 20th century; today it’s culturally diverse, reflected in a variety of community groups, faith buildings and local businesses. The local economy is dominated by retail and services, while nearby green belt and open spaces provide a suburban contrast to the town centre and links to neighbouring places such as Stanmore.
