Garway is a small, quiet village and civil parish in west Herefordshire, close to the border with Wales. The area is defined by rolling pasture, commons and pockets of ancient woodland clustered around Garway Hill, giving wide views across the border country and making it popular with walkers and birdwatchers.
Its best-known landmark is the medieval church of St Michael and All Angels, famed for its circular nave and historic links with the Knights Templar, which attracts history enthusiasts; otherwise the local economy is largely pastoral farming with a modest boost from rural tourism and walking routes such as the Offa's Dyke Path. A small, active community maintains village life with occasional events and a strong sense of local identity.
