Abbots Langley is a large village in the Three Rivers district of Hertfordshire, England, its name reflecting centuries of ownership by the abbots of St Albans. It combines village greens and pockets of older housing with modern estates, sits among the streams and greenbelt countryside that give the district its character, and benefits economically from proximity to Watford and the studio complex at Leavesden (home to the Warner Bros. Studio Tour).
Kings Langley is the smaller, historically resonant neighbour, once the site of a medieval royal manor and priory remnants that still shape local identity and conservation areas. Today it functions largely as a commuter village with good rail and road links, a mix of historic buildings, shops and pubs, light industry and access to waterways such as the Grand Union Canal and the rivers that give Three Rivers its name.
