Wye is a compact village in the borough of Ashford, Kent, England, set on the lower slopes of the North Downs beside the River Great Stour. The chalk escarpments of the Wye Downs and the cut chalk cross known as the Wye Crown give the area striking views, and the nearby route of the North Downs Way makes it popular with walkers and cyclists.
The village has a historic centre of old houses, traditional pubs and a lively community life, and was long associated with agriculture through the former Wye College. Today the local economy mixes farming and small businesses with commuting - there are rail links into Ashford and onward to London via Ashford International - so it feels rural yet well connected.
