The ward covers the neighbouring villages of Wye and Hinxhill in the borough of Ashford, Kent, England. It sits on the scarp and dip slopes of the North Downs by the River Great Stour, with the chalk grassland of the Wye Downs - a noted nature reserve - and the distinctive hillside landmark of the Wye Crown drawing walkers and birdwatchers along the North Downs Way.
There’s a strong historic and agricultural feel: Wye has a compact medieval core and was long associated with a notable agricultural college, while Hinxhill remains a quieter village of farms, pubs and cottages. Local life mixes farming and small businesses with commuters travelling to Ashford and London, and community events and conservation activity give the area a lively, locally rooted character.
