Farningham is a compact village and civil parish in the district of Sevenoaks, Kent, set in the attractive low-lying sweep of the Darent Valley. The settlement sits beside the chalk-stream River Darent and is framed by the rolling slopes of the North Downs, giving a strong sense of classic Kentish countryside and a number of historic buildings clustered around the village core.
Locally the community is centred on a village hall, pubs and small businesses, with a mix of long-standing rural life and commuters travelling into London. It’s close to other valley attractions such as Lullingstone and Eynsford, and is popular for riverside walks, local history and the quieter side of Kent living.
