West Kingsdown is a village and civil parish in the district of Sevenoaks, in Kent, England. Historically an agricultural community, it expanded through the 20th century into a mixed commuter and rural settlement within easy reach of London, and sits on the northern fringe of the North Downs with the characteristic rolling chalk hills and nearby stretches of the Darent Valley.
One of the village’s most notable features is Brands Hatch, a well‑known motor racing circuit that has staged everything from club meetings to historic grand prix events and remains a local economic and cultural draw. Today the area combines small retail and light industrial activity, leisure and tourism connected to the circuit, and a settled community life with schools, sports clubs and parish amenities typical of a semi‑rural Kentish village.
