Seal is a small village and civil parish in the district of Sevenoaks, Kent, set among wooded farmland on the fringes of the North Downs and only a few miles from the town of Sevenoaks itself. Its setting gives a distinctly rural feel despite being within easy commuting distance of London, and the parish includes the hamlet of Seal Chart and a scattering of historic cottages and farmsteads.
The village has a strong local identity: a parish church with medieval origins, a village green and community hall, and a mix of agriculture and residential life that has shifted over time towards serving commuters and local small businesses. Many of the buildings are listed and the area benefits from proximity to ancient woodland and country parks such as Knole Park, so history, landscape and a quiet village culture are the main attractions.
