Bredgar is a small rural village and civil parish in the Borough of Swale, in Kent, England, lying a few miles south of Sittingbourne and west of Faversham. Set on rolling farmland on the dip-slope of the North Downs, it retains a traditional village green, a pond and a number of listed cottages and farmsteads that give the place a distinctly historic, countryside character.
The local economy remains largely agricultural with many residents commuting to nearby towns or to London, and the community is noted for its close-knit feel and occasional village fetes and hall events. Historic interest includes a medieval parish church and several old houses, while one quirky local attraction is the volunteer-run Bredgar and Wormshill Light Railway, which draws enthusiasts to the area.
