West Downs is an electoral ward in the borough of Swale, in north Kent, England, lying on the western edge of Sittingbourne. It is largely suburban with a patchwork of housing styles, local green spaces and community facilities, and benefits from decent transport links that connect residents to nearby towns and the Medway conurbation.
The area has a mixed social and economic profile: many residents commute to nearby industrial and commercial centres while a handful of shops, schools and community groups give it a local feel. Historically the ward developed as part of Sittingbourne’s expansion, so you’ll find a blend of older estates and more recent developments alongside pockets of countryside that hint at Kent’s agricultural past.
