Lower Halstow is a small riverside village and civil parish in the Borough of Swale in Kent, England, tucked on the north side of the Hoo Peninsula where creeks and salt marsh meet the tidal River Medway. The surrounding mudflats, reedbeds and creeks give it a distinctly coastal-rural feel and make it popular with birdwatchers and small-boat enthusiasts while still being within easy reach of Sittingbourne and the Medway towns.
The village has a long history, with archaeological traces dating back to Roman and Saxon times and a parish church with medieval roots, and its economy traditionally leaned on farming, fishing and riverside trades. Today it combines residential life and countryside tourism with a close-knit community atmosphere, local clubs and a village hall that keep social life active.
