Brierfield is a small town in the borough of Pendle, Lancashire, England, set on the banks of the River Calder and alongside the Leeds and Liverpool Canal. It lies between Nelson and Burnley at the foot of Pendle Hill, so its landscape mixes low-lying industrial terraces with easy access to countryside and popular walking routes.
Historically a 19th-century mill town, Brierfield grew on cotton weaving and engineering and still shows that industrial heritage in its brick mills and rows of terraced houses; many canalside buildings have seen regeneration into housing and small businesses. The town has a lively community spirit, local sports clubs and a diverse population, and benefits culturally and economically from tourism tied to the Pendle Hill and the area's witch-trial history as well as ongoing local redevelopment efforts.
